The convenient, light-weight, pocket-sized, laminated field guide contains high quality images and brief descriptions of over 80 fungi  including their ecological niches and human uses from all major fungal groups. It is based on over a dozen visits to the Amazon by both the authors. Over 20 of these mushrooms are unique to the Amazon, over 50 are found from Mexico to Argentina*, and almost as many are found in other tropical zones around the world. This booklet offers a visual way to identify the most commonly encountered mushrooms with special attention to the most stunning and best edible Amazon mushrooms.

Reviews:

Books about the fungi in Amazonas are non-existing, not to speak about
colour pictures of the fungi growing there. This situation has now been
rectified by the publication of “ A Field Guide to Tropical Amazon
mushrooms” with colour pictures of very high quality. It gives a first
general overview of the most common species with the all major groups of
fungi. It is a most well come contribution to the exploration of the
most biodiverse area on the continent. By its folder format it is well
adapted to be an indispensable companion and is a must for everyone
visiting the Amazonian forest. It is strongly recommended.
